Shockwave is for tendon problems that have stopped responding to rest and exercise — plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, Achilles and shoulder tendons. We assess whether your problem is actually the kind shockwave helps before recommending it.

  • Used for chronic tendon pain, not fresh injuries
  • Assessment first — we will tell you if it is not the right tool
  • Paired with loading exercise, which is what makes it stick

What we have actually measured

Every patient here is scored 0 to 10 for pain at the first visit and tracked through treatment. These are our own records, not a survey.

We have no completed records for shockwave therapy in malleshwaram yet. Across all conditions:

Median pain at the first visit 7/10, now 1/10.

86% median pain relief · 6 sessions typically · 18 patients measured.

Across the clinic we have tracked 56 patients: 40 recovered or improved substantially, 14 are still in treatment, and 2 stopped coming. The relief figures above cover only patients who completed treatment and were scored at both ends. Updated August 2026.

Your first visit, step by step

  1. Confirming the problem is a degenerative tendon rather than an acute injury
  2. Palpation and load testing to locate exactly where the tendon is involved
  3. Ruling out stress fracture and nerve entrapment, which can present the same way

You leave knowing what is wrong, in plain language, whether or not you book anything.

Shockwave alone rarely fixes a tendon

The evidence is strongest when it is paired with progressive loading. The shockwave restarts the healing response; the loading tells the tendon what to rebuild for. Anywhere offering you shockwave without an exercise programme alongside it is selling you half the treatment.

For tendons that have stopped healing on their own

Shockwave is for chronic tendon problems that have stalled — plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, Achilles and shoulder tendons that have not responded to rest and exercise. It works by provoking a healing response in tissue that has given up on one. It is not for fresh injuries, and using it on one is at best wasted money.

What treatment involves

A short course of sessions spaced several days apart, always alongside a loading programme. We will give you a realistic timeline at the assessment, and tell you plainly if we do not think shockwave is your answer.

If it does not work, you do not pay

Ten sessions, with your pain scored on a 0 to 10 scale at the start and tracked throughout. If your score has not improved, we refund the full amount.
